The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) has partnered with Robinsons Retail Holdings, Inc. (RRHI) to launch a major expansion of its cardless withdrawal service, allowing BPI customers to access cash directly at participating retail store counters using the BPI app. This strategic
collaboration effectively transforms everyday shopping locations into convenient banking access points, significantly enhancing customer convenience by eliminating the need for a separate trip to a branch or ATM.
Solutions Exchange Inc. (SXI), an Indivara Group subsidiary in the Philippines, served as the technology partner, supporting the secure and seamless implementation of this cardless withdrawal functionality within the BPI digital platform and integrating it with the RRHI store network.
Led by BPI, the collaboration combines financial services with routine shopping. BPI provides the digital capability through its app; RRHI offers its nationwide retail footprint; and SXI delivers the underlying technology that connects the two. Customers can now withdraw cash at participating store counters as part of their daily errands.
In the official press release, BPI President and CEO TG Limcaoco emphasized the partnership’s focus on convenience:
“That is what true convenience means—thinking about what our customers need. The added advantage here is simple: they do not have to make an extra trip just to withdraw cash. They can do it while doing their groceries or while shopping at the department store. That is the kind of seamless experience we aim for, and that is what this partnership between BPI and Robinsons Retail is all about.”
Tin Tueres, RRHI Food Segment Managing Director, highlighted the customer impact in the same announcement:
“This partnership is all about making banking possible and accessible and part of everyday life. It’s about helping our customers manage their finances in a way that’s simple, seamless, and right where they need it. Together with BPI we’re not just making grocery shopping easier—we’re changing how Filipinos bank,”
The service is available currently in selected RRHI stores, including Robinsons Supermarket, Robinsons Easymart, The Marketplace, No Brand, and Shopwise, with plan to roll-out to more RRHI stores this 2026.
Extending cardless withdrawal access to retail locations supports BPI’s goal of embedding banking into everyday routines. SXI’s role focused on ensuring secure, reliable connectivity between the BPI app and RRHI’s in-store systems.
“Our priority was to ensure that the technology supporting the connection between BPI’s digital platform and RRHI’s in-store counters works securely and smoothly,” said Ergie Ong, President and CEO of SXI. “We are proud to support BPI in extending this service to its customers and in helping bring added convenience to everyday transactions.”
As BPI and RRHI move toward broader on-the-go banking experiences, SXI and the Indivara Group remain committed to enabling the technology that powers these customer-first innovations, helping partners deliver financial services exactly where people need them most.
